Here is something that means more to me than wedding or engagement photography, the Heart Gallery.
Heart Galleries are set up in almost every major city in the US. Philadelphia and Pennsylvania both have their own Heart Gallery, we belong to both organizations. The Heart Gallery was borne out of the problem of social workers taking bad photos of kids up for adoption.
So some smart photographer got the idea that if you showed the soul of a child, that child would have a better chance of getting adopted. Now we aren't talking cute 6 week old kids here - most of the children that the gallery takes on are older children. Once children get past the cute phase, sadly it's becomes harder for them to find a family to adopt them. This is where local professional photographers shine.
I can think of no greater cause than assisting in the placement of these children. No matter how small my part may be.
