Here's what they called it:
UNBRIDALED: THE TRADITIONAL WEDDING EXPO HAS COME UNDONE
www.unbridaledexpo.com
Unbridaled is an alternative wedding expo that steers away from the traditional and focuses on local, handmade, environmentally responsible and alternative solutions to planning a wedding. Realizing that mainstream wedding shows are not appealing to all, this expo intends for everyone to participate no matter what their religion, race, preference, or income. This event redefines an industry dominated by commercial products and empowers people to think creatively.
Unbridaled will feature mens and womens fashions, organic catering, live djs, eco-friendly travel service, artisan candle makers, henna tattoo artists, dance studios, jewlers, photographers and more.
WHAT: Unbridaled, Philadelphia’s alternative wedding expo
WHERE: The Crane Arts Building
1400 North American Street
Philadelphia, PA 19122
WHEN: February 16, 2008
11am-5pm
What I thought:
The event brought together an interesting mix of artists, untypical brides, and vendors. Atmosphere was enhanced by trendy lighting. The fashion show was an interesting mix of vintage and new. No typical dresses were shown. I'm not big on bridal shows but this one supported the local artists, businesses & photographers and wasn't full of bridezillas.
