Monday Fast Tips for Brides #20 - Leave Time

There is nothing worse than having hopes for your wedding photos and then not having enough time to have these photos taken. If you are working with a wedding planner, make sure to let them know that you want plenty of time between your wedding ceremony and the cocktail hour. A good wedding planner will have plenty of experience in your wedding day planning and will have no problem accommodating this. If you are using a "day of event coordinator" from your venue, they may try to make a plan that serves the venue rather than your needs. (This is one instance that a good wedding planner trumps a day of event coordinator.)

So how much time? Formals can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 hour. Then set aside 30minutes to 1 hour for Bride and Groom portraits. Different wedding photographers will suggest different amounts. Also remember to leave a little extra time for traffic if you are traveling. The formula is simple, the more time you set aside the more photos will be taken. A side tip, the more creative the photographer, the shorter your "must have photo list" should be - if you want your photographers creative style to shine through.
